We would like to remind customers of the following for trash services.
Trash is on a route and not on a timed schedule. Please have trash out by 6 AM on your trash days.
Drivers may have help on a route, or a sub driver may run the route differently.
All trash must be in the garbage tote.
Drivers do not have to take extra trash outside of the tote.
Make sure that totes have 3 feet clearance on all sides on assisted side load routes so the arm of the truck can safely grab the can without damaging cars, mailboxes, fences, etc.
Please make sure cans and dumpsters are not blocked.
With winter coming please make sure totes and dumpsters are accessible.
Drivers will not service if cans are not accessible.
If there is a weather or mechanical delay, we take part in the weather crawler on KOTA, KEVN, and KNBN for weather closures or delays.
We will also inform any municipality of any weather closures or long mechanical delays.
Please make sure all trash and recycling is bagged and tied.
Drivers will not clean up messes from loose trash.
Items not allowed in any tote or dumpster; Construction materials (lumber, shingles, sheet rock, decking, siding, etc.), yard waste, concrete, brick, rocks, pavers, lithium-ion batteries, car batteries, any fluid that can be added to a motorized vehicle, large appliances, any coolant based appliances including window A/Cs, large pieces of metal, logs, timbers, liquid paints or stains, hazardous materials or chemicals, rims and tires, medical waste not in a sharps container, large furniture, mattresses.
All special requests (work orders) must be made by 3:30 PM the day prior to service. Any requests after 3:30 PM will be added to next week’s service.
All Cardboard must be broken down and in the tote for service.
The Rapid City Landfill does take cardboard for free if you would like to recycle your cardboard. You would have to take it to the landfill or two satellite locations (Fitzgerald Stadium or 1091 Rapid St.) These recycling dumpsters are accessible 24 hours a day. The landfill is open Monday – Saturday 7 AM – 4 PM
Holidays we are closed; New Years, Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas. If your service day falls on the holiday or after the holiday, your service day will be one day behind. We will run Saturdays on holiday weeks if your service day is pushed from Friday.
